Indonesia produced 792 thousand barrels of oil in 2015, which was below the set target of 825 thousand, according to the director general of oil and gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. "The oil production dropped due to disruption in activities at the Cepu Block, which delayed the big program of the block by several months," Wiratmadja Puja, the director general, stated here on Wednesday.

Puja noted that in 2016, the government has set a production target of 830 thousand barrels, and he was optimistic that it would be achieved since all major oil drilling projects in the Cepu Block were ready. "We hope the production target would be met as all projects in the Cepu Block are ready for production, and the exploration is now ongoing," he added.
